a graph of people's perspective
Are u a single individual? “what kind of a rubbish question is this?”…now is this the thought or reply coming to your mind for this question of mine. If it so, then believe me, you aren’t in a state to read this article…but in other case if it evolves some waving, swirling thoughts in your mind, then listen to this to this story that I want to narrate on behalf of an ordinary girl about the most significant period of her life.
Now, coming back to my question, “Are you a single individual?” Ummm…this girl got confronted with this question when she was of about our age only, a young girl just entered into the college phase of her life. She comes as a straight and simple girl like a straight line plotted on x-axis or rather coinciding to it. ‘Happy in her own small globe of thoughts’. This is what I can call her initial stage to be but as a little time passed it was sure that people started entering into her life as friends, as ideals, and the most important of those whom she admires for their work. For her and for me these people can be plotted on the y-axis. Now, mathematics loving people might have started enjoying the joy of getting a line, or curve, or any figure appearing on their graphs due to intersection of these people on different axes in her life. The curve you are getting is the path of her life that she is moving on and the graph is for sure her total life. Now I want to answer my very initial question, the curve you obtained or the figure you are getting, and the person sitting by your side analyzing the same data may not be getting the same figure on his graph. You might be taking some people as points on y-axis corresponding to the girl’s behavior on x-axis, and the other one going on completely different path because I never provided you the corresponding x, y points, its you who took them and got different curves. The same function getting different curves means following different sub-functions, so isn’t it similar to our case too that we aren’t a single individual.
Its sometimes you on the positive side of yourself quarreling with yourself only on the negative side and neither the less, the person trying to settle or provoke this battle is also you. People say that in this world a person carries many faces in front of the world, but the individuals actually face drastic dilemma at times when their most of the life goes in understanding the faces and personalities they own to themselves.
Now let me ask you another question- ‘did you have the curves in the first quadrant?’ Those who have would plot the optimistic personality of the girl but those in other quadrants, who is responsible for plotting the pessimistic personality of the girl? Doesn’t that shows that how you take other people to be is completely dependent on your personal approach in life. But still those calling themselves to be the critical analyzers call others frustrated, pessimists. You know the world is not what it is, but it is something what you see it as, because that’s what affects you more and hence matters more! I gave you no function relating x, y so it was completely your decision to relate them and plot them the way you like or in a figure you like. A responsibility that came under the cover of enjoying a favor of deciding or judging someone’s individuality. It simply needs the narrow opinion of single function to be dropped when an undefined function can take multiple relations into account.
hi a nice post.
ReplyDeleteur perspective is great. with time the language must improve.
life is a mathematics though a complex one with its real and imaginary parts. looking forward to reading something as thoughtful as this on ur blog. :)
nice post i really liked this
ReplyDeletenice one....maybe a person's life or his personality is too complex a function to just plot on a graph and try to understand but I guess we can all attempt it....mathematics has always fascinated me but I had never tried to look life from a mathematician's point of view
